The Courageous Kitten
In a serene little village nestled among rolling green hills stood a cozy cottage where a tiny kitten named Katie lived. Katie was curious and playful but often felt timid when confronted with challenges.
One stormy afternoon, a powerful gust of wind swept through the village, toppling fences and scattering debris all around. As the storm passed, the villagers emerged to assess the damage. To their dismay, a large oak tree had fallen, blocking the path to the communal food storage shed. With winter approaching, this path was vital. The older animals—badgers, rabbits, and hedgehogs—stood around, unsure of what to do. That’s when small, timid Katie stepped forward. Though her heart raced, she thought, “I may be small, but I cannot just stand and watch.”
Katie padded toward the fallen tree, pushing and clawing at the branches, trying to create a gap. Intrigued by her bravery, the other animals gathered courage. The rabbits nudged the branches, the hedgehogs rolled and shifted twigs, and the badgers lifted heavy logs.
Together, they cleared a narrow passage just large enough to reach the shed. The animals cheered and celebrated their success—and Katie’s bravery.
Grateful villagers said, “Katie, you've shown us that even the smallest can do great things when they act with courage.”
Katie’s heart swelled with pride. Though she was small, she had made a real difference. And from that day on, she was known as the courageous kitten who inspired everyone around her.
Moral: Courage isn’t about size—it’s about stepping up, especially when you’re afraid.
